This year, we had quite a bit of Easter activity. Every year since we’ve moved back to Arizona, my mother-in-law has hosted Easter dinner. But this year, my dad and stepmom were coming over the holiday, so we hosted at our house for the first time.
To prepare, Pumpkin and I made some new Easter decor – wooden letters to spell out “spring” decorated with Disney Princesses. We also made some Easter eggs to match. Read more about these to projects on the Bumkins blog!
Eggs, Eggs, Eggs
In addition to the Disney eggs, which were dyed pink with beets, we did some watercolor eggs two days before Easter. The girls loved this because they had a bit more creative control!
Easter Egg Hunt
The day before Easter, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt hosted by our friends at the Poty Group. It was awesome! Besides the Easter Egg Hunt itself, there were bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting and more. The girls had a great time (until one of them had a fit over her face painting when she decided she would have rather had what her sister got).
After Easter baskets and a breakfast of choereg (Armenian sweet bread, sometimes spelled choreg) and hard boiled eggs, Pumkpin and I went to Easter service with my dad and stepmom. Back at home later in the day, my in-laws joined us for Easter dinner.
It was really great having everyone together for the evening, and I had fun getting everything ready! The girls are at really fun ages where they can participate and remember our holiday traditions. And they still get excited about little things like stickers in their Easter baskets 🙂
