My sister went back to work today following her maternity leave. She asked me last week for some tips on pumping once she’s back at work, and I thought my tips might be helpful for others, too.
I had to go back to work at six weeks with both of my girls – that’s a long topic for another day. However, I successfully breastfed them both until after they turned 1, so I was basically married to my pump. I have pumped in airports, restrooms, as a passenger in a car, as the driver of a car (hands-free, I swear!), multiple resort casinos in Reno (due to work events), storage closets, you name it. After having once pumped in an airport restroom stall, I was very pleased to find nursing rooms at the airport in San Jose, which made for a much more pleasant pumping experience.
