Some of you who have been reading for a long time know that for both environmental and financial reasons, I try to buy used clothing when I can. I wanted to share my latest consignment store finds.
A few weeks ago, we were going out to dinner with friends. As I was headed to the grocery store to buy chicken nuggets for the babysitter to feed the girls, I realized I wasn’t excited about any of my clothing options, so I stopped into the consignment store and looked at some new tops. I found two, both Ann Taylor Loft.
The first top has an elastic waistband that gives it the look of being tucked in. For dinner out, I paired it with black shorts I’ve had for a few years, and sandals that I’ve managed to hang on to since 2002! The following week, I paired the same top with black pants and pumps for work. It’s comfortable and versatile and cost about $8.
I also bought a more casual, oatmeal-colored tank with a beaded neckline. This shirt I paired with jeans and a pair of wedges I’ve had since the late ’90s. (I may have a hoarding problem.) I foresee this top getting a lot of wear over the summer.
