A few weeks ago, I went to Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market, and one of my purchases was a bag of Scrabble tiles. At the time, I had no idea what I would do with them. But as my girlfriends and I were planning a weekend trip that included wine tasting, it hit me! I decided to make Scrabble Tile Wine Glass charms.
What you’ll need:
- Scrabble Tiles (you can find them on Etsy)
- Earring Hoops
- Jump Rings
- Additional Charms, optional
- Needle-nose pliers
I placed the tiles one at a time in a vise grip and drilled the hole with a 3/32 bit (it’s the smallest size we have, but one size smaller would probably work also). Then I added the jump ring using needle-nose jewelry pliers.
When we went to the store to buy the earring hoops and jump rings, my 4-year-old tried to talk me into buying some charms to add, which was a great suggestion. Instead of buying charms, I raided my jewelry-supply bag at home.
Since two of us have names that start with “T,” I used a flower charm for all of my friends’ initials, and used a jade leaf for my own.
I love how they turned out and already made another set for a birthday gift!
My friends and I had a great time on our trip and the charms definitely came in handy.
