WEEK IN REVIEW: SEPT. 12-19, 2016
The first half the week was a scramble for me as I prepared to be away for two days for Blended on Thursday and Friday. I had a great time at the conference meeting other bloggers and I learned a lot! Not to mention, the setting was beautiful. I will write more about it in a separate post.
One of the best parts of going away to a conference was getting a night all to myself in a hotel room – I slept 8.5 hours straight! I honestly can’t remember the last time that happened. (Yes, the conference was less than an hour drive for me – less time than it takes me to get to work on a heavy traffic day, but not having to drive back late at night and back again early the next morning was totally worth it.)
We had an average tumbling, Target trip and grocery shopping kind of weekend, but we also squeezed in a couple birthday celebrations (one with friends, one with family), a family lunch date and a little time at the park.
Before Mr. G and I went out Saturday night, we pretended it was Christmas and Pumpkin and Peanut put on holiday pajamas and drank hot cocoa after dinner. They were pretty excited over it, but declined my offer to watch “Elf,” choosing “The Incredibles” instead.
Favorite Meals this Week
I only ate dinner at home three nights this week. With so much going on this week, I didn’t cook much – Monday we had BLTs (a guaranteed crowd-pleaser) and I cooked extra turkey bacon to go into these burgers, which we love. I made the patties after the girls went to bed Monday, and Mr. G grilled them up later that night so they would be ready to eat when we got home Tuesday night. Teamwork makes the dream work, friends!
Mr. G and I have a fun trip planned this week to see one of my favorite bands. It’s going to be super short, but I’m really excited! I don’t know that we’ve ever made a mid-week escape before …
