I love holidays. Decorating for holidays. Holiday-themed clothes. Giving gifts. Special food. All of it. But Christmastime can get to be so hectic, with tons of events and so many people to buy for, I don’t always come through for my coworkers. So, a couple years ago I made them Galentine’s gifts instead, and I think this will become a tradition. It takes some of the holiday pressure off, and lets you do something thoughtful and fun at a more surprising time of year.
Not sure what Galentine’s Day is? Leslie Knope explains below. (You really should watch Parks and Rec, though, for full appreciation.)
Below are a few Galentine gift ideas for your lady friends.
For your friend who is always
For the friend who could use a drink
Pick up an adorable wine bag, like this one from the Target dollar spot, and fill it with their favorite wine or spirit or, in keeping with a Valentine’s color way, a bottle of pink champagne.
For the friend who drinks coffee like water
(that would be me)
Find a fun coffee mug and pair it with a bag of coffee beans, or a gift card to their favorite coffee
dealer shop. This mug is Pastel by Fringe Studio, and I found it at Nordstrom.
Of course, if you’re feeling really ambitious, you could have an entire Galentine’s party, and serve pink champagne, dessert, and coffee. Or, in the true spirit of the holiday, just go out for brunch. It’s what Leslie Knope would do!
