Join us for a peek inside the newly remodeled Jake’s Unlimited! We recently spent a Friday night here, and it was fun for the whole family.
Jake’s Unlimited recently invited us to come in and check out their remodeled space. I had been once before for an event I was working, and Pumpkin had once gone for a field trip, but this was the first time we all went together for a night out.
Have you ever had a moment where you realize just how much your kids have grown? That’s how we felt after our night out at Jake’s. We arrived around 5 and stayed until almost 9 – an hour past bedtime – and we had not one meltdown. The girls even made it through an entire game of bowling (and neither had ever gone bowling before).
We were impressed by how much there was to do. Video games, carnival games in the midway, classic games like skee ball, a carousel, laser tag, photo booth, bumper cars, air hockey and more.
We did a lot of activities together all four of us, and when there were some we thought Peanut wasn’t big enough for, we split up with Mr. G taking Pumpkin to do bumper cars and laser tag while Peanut and I played skee ball and motorcycle video games.
When I was a kid growing up, Reno was the closest city to my small town (and it was 90 miles away). My dad would sometimes fly up to Reno from L.A. and we’d stay at the Circus Circus and play at the midway there – or at Grand Sierra Resort, where we’d go bowling. This felt a lot like I was sharing some of my childhood memories with my girls!
When we needed to take a dinner break, there was a buffet with salads, pastas, pizza and more, plus ice cream and cookies for dessert.
Instead of dessert, Mr. G and I opted for a drink. I couldn’t pass up the cotton candy martini!
With our schedules, it’s pretty rare for us to get a Friday night out with the whole family, so this was a really special treat and we all had such a great time. The girls are already planning our next visit back!
