Peanut started pre-K last week and, for the first time in three years, she and Pumpkin are now at the same school!
When she was at her daycare, the school fed her meals, and she had a cubby for her spare clothes and nap-time blankie, so she didn’t have a need for a backpack or lunch box until now.
With the girls in uniforms and us getting lists of supplies needed from the teachers, there’s not as much fun in back-to-school shopping as I remember from when I was a kid. Still, I found a few fun new things for Peanut’s new adventure!
Ok, the first thing is really something fun for me: a letter board. This one is the poet from Letterfolk. I’ve wanted it for a long time, and finally bought it when I got my new job. It makes a nice back-to-school photo prop, and when I’m not using it for photos, I’ve been having fun switching up the phrases on the wall in the kitchen.
Next up was Peanut’s backpack. Pumpkin is using the same one she got last year, which is covered in flair. When I got a fun patch in a swag bag, I decided to do patches for Peanut’s backpack so she could also have something unique, but not jab her fingers on pins. She picked out the backpack color, and I selected and sewed on the patches. I may add more down the road.

Since we went to the Museum of Ice Cream last year, I thought Peanut would love this ice cream truck lunch box that even plays the music of an ice cream truck … and I was right! The ice cream ice pack is a fun addition.
Finally, I got her this hair bow from Polished Peanut that’s perfect for the first day of school, and all year long.
We could tell Peanut was a little nervous heading in to her first day at a new school, but she had a great first week. Looking forward to seeing her learn and grow this year!
